Azure 08 Lines by CrashLegacy Azure 08 Lines by CrashLegacy
Tiberias Cryon's Azure 08 of the Azure Dawn from the ongoing Andrus Adventure.

The mecha is at it's core a TX-20 that has seen many modifcations. With deisgn elements and parts taken by the recently defeated Elendor the Azure 08 is capable of performing tow distinct roles in combat.

First it performs as a heavy assualt unit, with is armament of consisting of a set of twin SMG-10 submachine guns fitted with a 90rnd disk magazine among other modifciations; and a set of double barreled shotguns mounted under it's shields that are fed from a 20round rectangual drum in the shields.

Up to twelve additional disks of SMG ammunition can be stored by the mecha in mechanisms on the hips and base of the tail binder, the mechaniums are designed to allow the mecha to slam the gun's magazine well onto the disk clips so that it can quickly reload in combat without letting go of either gun.

To allow it to take advantage of this hard hitting close range package the mecha is equiped with four boosters, two mounted on it's back and one mounted on each shin; the long tail binder outfitted with vernier boosters; and a set of stabalizing spikes on the legs that can extend quickly to assist in sharp, high speed turns.

The second role is one of a light artillery platform. In this capability the mecha's swing arm mounted back pack is raised to the back and locked into place to allow the two attached cannons to unfold over the shoulders- this however prevents the back mounted boosters from firing. to steady the mecha while firing the tail binder and legs are outfited with stabalizer spike that extend into the ground rooting the mecha in place. finally the head mounts a command fin to take advantage of the increased communications range allowing distant allies to feed the mecha targeting data.

To suport this arsenal he core mecha recived a number of structual reinforments, most noteably the upper leg features joints from a heavier mecha in a fashion similar to the Azure 10.

Very cool design! Your linework is nice.
CrashLegacy Featured By Owner May 19, 2009
thanks. and this is juste pencil work, I can't wait till I get a tablet so I can actually start "inking" my linework.
grid-gunner Featured By Owner May 20, 2009
WHen you say "inking" do you mean going over your linework with a digital brush? Your lines are very clean as is.
CrashLegacy Featured By Owner May 22, 2009
yeah that's what I mean. my lines are clean only because I force myself to keep it clean. the prblem is it's rather tedious and slow as I'm more a sketch artist thenanything. besides there are things I can't do with my lines now that I would beable to do with a tablet. not to mention coloring would be much easier.

Yes drawing lineart is tedious. Thats probably unavoidable. Remember your brain is like a muscle, the more you use it for a specific function the better it will get at it over time.

Also once you get a tablet, you may need to get use to drawing with it. It's not quite the same as drawing traditionally. But there are so many possibilities with digital work, thats one of my motivations. :)

oh I'm sure it will take me time to get use to the tablet but it will be well worth it when I'm finaly able to get the lines how I want them on the computer.

Wow, that's a lot of guns there.

The mecha is cetiantly armed to the teeth. only thing it's missing is melee weapons..but then agian it has a pair of shotguns under it's shields.

Awesome design and details!!
Very well worth the time XD

eh, getting the right arm and the stabalizer tail correct took a good chunk of the time I spent on this design.
